The crazy black moon,
Came out one noon,
To meet a saintly goon,
Who cursed him with a boon.

The moon wept from his nose,
The goon ate the moon with his toes,
With open eyes, he then did doze.
The eyes began to run, hence he let them close.

Don't you laugh, it is not comical,
The story is infact a veridical.

Best Blogger Tips

Does it happen to you that you see candies everywhere? Simple plain ones, striped ones, the chocolaty ones and the like? Well, it happens to me, all the time nowadays.

Candy Crush is addictive to say the least. But, let me tell you, I wasn't a fan initially. I preferred the candies in the fridge over the candies on my tablet or my phone or my laptop. But, with so much time on hand and so many gadgets to play with, I succumbed, like many others, to the addiction called "Candy Crush Saga".

The addiction shows - the other day I went to Walmart and saw so many candies in different shapes and sizes and colours and instead of buying them, all I did was ponder about what candies could be mixed so that I can get higher points and move on to the next level. The addiction is so much that I, now, have stopped looking at the candies in the fridge because I can, neither create, nor mix nor destroy them. Sigh!

P.S. Till I find a rehabilitation centre to cure me of my addiction, can you guys help me by sending in some virtual lives and loads of candy luck my way this holiday season? :D

I remember having written a post before where I said that I hate having cold. But, now that am jobless, it is fun when I catch cold. I can sit and spend time peeling off the dry skin from my nose. Nah, don't gross out; am sure you all have done it atleast once in your life. If you haven't, you should try it once, it is fun. :D

A quick post for today since I was busy visiting a lot of places in Oregon.
The husband was driving the car. Here, in US, we have an automatic. Back in India, we have a car with manual gear settings. My question to him was simple: "I understand we use our right leg for both accelerator(gas) and brake and the left leg for clutch in India. But, here, since we don't have a clutch, why can't we use right leg exclusively for accelerator(gas) and left leg exclusively for brake?" He didn't say a word. But, I now feel I will never get to drive again here. I wonder why. O_o

Imagine you read an awesome quote, or laugh at a hilarious joke or see a breathtakingly beautiful photograph and then you look at the bottom of the post to see who is the person behind it who came up with something this good and all you see is "Anonymous". How do you feel? Do you even spare a thought for him/her? Now, say the post is viral over the internet and everyone is sharing and resharing (by sharing, I mean Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V here) and liking and commenting on the post and it finally reaches that "Anonymous" person. Does he/she feel bad that he/she didn't take the credit for what he/she created initially and now even if he/she goes and tells people that he/she is the brain behind it, no body would believe him/her, because, it has changed hands, err, computer screens way too many times that there remains no credibility to his/her claim.

I pity that "Anonymous" person. My prayers are with you!

Crazy title? Not really, there are so many underlying emotions associated with "milk". Sic sic.
Err..I will stop being a shitty piece of melodramatic fur ball that I am and tell you why I hate milk ! Wait a minute, from the title, did you by any chance think that I love milk? No, not even in my dreams can I love milk.  And when I say milk, I refer to the white, frothy, plain, liquid source of the so called "very important calcium".

It all started 27 years ago, (I will be 27 this August, wish me "Happy B'day", ok? *Rolls her eyes and thinks how much more lame can she get*) , when I was a baby. I don't remember if I hated milk then but my mommy tells me that I was a terror to be breastfed. I realise it is such a pain for the small babies to drink the same plain milk for months together. I would have preferred atleast flavored milk, or say, a pizza to munch along with it, but, I don't know why, mommy doesn't agree. Mommies, I say, are very stubborn.

The hatred grew stronger with age. My mom would run behind me with a glass of milk every single day. She tried to feed me plain milk, Complan, Horlicks, Bournvita, Boost, etc but I wouldn't budge. I cried, wailed, woke up the neighbours but I refused to drink milk. One day she asked me as to why I hated milk so much. I told her, "I can smell the cow/buffalo in the milk and it stinks so horribly that my nose wants to go hide somewhere at the sight of milk". Wait a minute, does nose see? Forget it, let me continue. So, according to her, the problem was the smell. Wrong. The problem was bigger. It was the smell, the taste and the texture.

My mom couldn't cope up with the tantrum I threw on seeing milk. So, she decided to leave me and the milk alone so that we could bond over time. She was wrong. I was elated when she left me alone with the milk. I found so many new ways to dispose off the milk that my mom didn't know what method I would use next. When mom wasn't around, I would pour the milk in the sink, sometimes, in the bathroom. But she found out. I wasn't the one to give up. I found a new way to dispose it off. I would go feed the milk to our "Sapota/ Chikoo" tree. Believe me, I am responsible for the ever sweet, most tasty fruits we get every year from that tree. I fed it the nutrition it wanted, depriving myself of it. I am so proud of my sacrifice.

Mom stopped telling me to drink milk as I grew older. She started giving me curd, buttermilk, ice creams, milkshakes, flavoured milk as substitutes which I enjoyed. I hated only plain milk you see.  Only if she had thought of all this before, she would have freed herself from so much hassle.

Present day situation is no different. They say "In life, opposites attract". It is true. My husband loves milk. I can't appreciate the fact for reasons you already know. But, he hates fruit. So, now we have found a way where both of us drink milk and eat fruit without cribbing - thanks to milkshake. I drink milkshake thinking it has fruits and my husband drinks milkshake thinking it has milk. It is all about perception you see.

P.S. : I have no idea why there is no connection between the various paragraphs of this post. *Realises that it is the same with all her posts and smirks.*

Does it happen to you that you wish for an apple and end up with a tomato? Do your wishes backfire? Mine do.

  • I, sometime back, had wished for fever instead of cold.  What happened? I ended up with both cold and fever. I know it was a stupid wish to ask for but running nose can be frustrating sometimes!
  • The other time, I had wished I could forget a few things in life and remain calm and peaceful. What did I forget? My E-mail account’s password and the security question.

I think my wishes are jinxed. I always ask for something , end up with the wish granted but with a twist. Can someone help?

It has been long since I last posted. This is one line you will find in most of my posts. Kya karoon..majboori hain.

I have been suffering from Rhinorrhea  from past few days. Does it ring a bell? Yes? No? Arrey kuch toh bolo. It is not something where the doctor will come and tell you with a sad face, “ I am sorry. Aap kuch hi  dino ki mehmaan hain.” Instead he might tell his son or daughter, “ Dekho beta, joker ka naakh aisa hi hota hain.” Ok, enough of this scientific melodrama. I am suffering from common cold and I think it is way too common nowadays, much against my liking. Achooo…sorry.

Bangalore weather is fluctuating so badly. I think Suryadev, Vayudev and Varundev need to come into a consensus as to who is going to make their presence felt here in November. It looks like they are fighting it out to make their presence felt and poor me is suffering because of their indecision. Why does the common man have to suffer..always? Nah..just another clichéd line. Cold thodi bedbhaav karke aata hain. My posts are turning to be in Hinglish now..by the way, is there a term called Hinglish or am I making my own vocabulary. I wonder why I tend to talk in Hindi since my mother tongue is Kannada and that too Havyak Kannada. Maybe 3 years in Agra left its mark. I love the Hindi language. I truly do. Again, I deviated from the topic. Now that is me. Good to see that I am still me. Pat on my back.

Coming back to my current state, I hate suffering from cold, not that anyone would love suffering from it. I think it is the most disgusting things one can suffer from. If I had an option, I would have chosen fever over cold. I hate having running nose, watering eyes and sneezing. Why couldn’t God have provided me with two noses, one just for keepsake and replaceable when I am suffering from this stupid cold. Achooo..achoo..achooo. I am tired of carrying 3 hankies and 2 packets of tissues everyday. I hope it to end soon. I feel like a red nosed monkey with this cold!! Achooo..achoo..achoo.

This is it. I am ending this nonsense post. But, why did I post this in the first place?!?!?!? Hmm..kya pata. Ab yahi post karne ka mann tha..toh mann ki sun li maine.

Best Blogger Tips

  • Finish reading one book before moving on to the second one. Remember, you have five books to complete and three more are in the cupboard!!
  • Don’t buy books just because they are on the ‘must read’ section of some book review site. Remember 400 odd rupees spent on that award winning book? You dozed off every time you read beyond 5 pages. I hope you have learnt a lesson from it. If not, it is high time you do.
  • Getting drenched in the rain while coming back home from office is ‘sheer laziness’ . So, use the umbrella you carry and don’t be lazy. You will have to keep your nose aside if you keep getting drenched in the rain. It is already leaking more than it should.
  • Post frequently on your blogs.  Don’t spend time looking at the sky. “The sky will fall” is just an idiom. So, instead of waiting for it to fall, you can post something sane and readable in the meantime.
  • Drink lots of water. The water crisis will not end with you drinking only 4 glasses of water a day.

Best Blogger Tips

Every evening I decide to post on my blog, yes this blog and not the other one ( I am quite frequent out there…uhh..currently!!), but I end up not posting anything new. What happens right after I come back home from office is as below:

My brain: “ Switch on the computer and check if there are any new posts, any new followers, any new comments.  Check both the blogs. Check out other blogs where a comment has been left and reply is awaited.”
My hands: “We are tired of using the keyboard the whole day. We need some rest.”
My eyes: “Same here. We too need some rest.”
My heart(always an optimist): “I am sure there are new comments, new followers, blah, blah blah. We can just sneak in and check once.”
My eyes and my hands revolt.
My brain and my heart don’t care.

After logging in,
My heart: “First, let us see BowTie :)”
All of them agree. After being there for sometime and being disappointed:
My brain: “Now let us go to Thoughtless”
My eyes: “No………………………I can’t take myself off BowTie!!”
My hands(still revolting): “Am tired guys(oh sorry girls).”
Who cares??

It is navigation to Thoughtless from BowTie :).
My brain: “We need a post soon.”
My heart: “But I currently don’t have anything close to me that needs to be shared.”
My eyes: “Uhh..brightness hurts.”
My hands: “Lets go.”
My brain and my heart: “Lets go to IndiBlogger and see what is happening.”
An hour or so on IndiBlogger, talking and chatting on the forum.

My brain and my heart: “Lets work on the new post. Before that, let us post something on BowTie :) . ”
My eyes and my hands:“Can we come back tomorrow?”
As always, heart and brain don’t listen.

After posting on BowTie, interruption.
My Ears: “I can hear somebody yell from the kitchen.”
My mouth and my stomach : “We need to get to work.”
All of them agree.

After dinner, back on the system.
My heart and my brain: “Let us see what other bloggers are upto . Then we’ll post on Thoughtless.”
My hands and my eyes: “Not again.”

After surfing and checking out and commenting on others’ blogs.
All of them: “Lets come back tomorrow. We all need rest.”
New post goes down the drain!!!

PS: I am out of my senses to post something like this. But, since my hands, even after being so tired, typed all this, I posted it anyways. I hate..I hate this post!!!

The cat...meow.

I have never had any major mishaps as a baby like most babies do . The reason being I found it a struggle to move around because I couldn't carry my own weight around(Look at the picture for proof). So, all I did was sit in one place and play. I never gave a reason for any mishap to occur. I know many mothers would love a baby like that.

After I grew a little older and my baby fat was lost after I started schooling, I have had my share of mishaps. One such episode is still very fresh in my mind.  I was five years old then  and used to come back home in the afternoon. My mum would then serve me lunch and  go in for her afternoon nap . There was no point of her waiting for me to finish my lunch since I would take a minimum of 3hrs to finish my food. I have been a troublesome child when it came to eating. So, on that fateful day, she served me Peas Pulav and went in for her nap.

I sat in front of the TV, eating very slowly like I always did. Then , curiosity struck and I decided to measure the size of my nostrils. I looked around and found the pea to be the perfect tool for the task . I put the pea into one of my nostrils  and found it to be a perfect fit. I tried removing it when I realized it was time for my mum to wake up and she would scold me for doing such a thing. Then came the dreaded moment, the pea was stuck . Due to my breathing, I had pushed the pea further up my nose. When my mum woke up and came to me, she found that there was something fishy by the way I was acting. On enquiring, I blurted out the incident and she grew panicky. She tried all measures to remove the pea but all her efforts failed. The sneeze never came nor did I cough. I could still breathe with one nostril but after sometime I started feeling a little breathless, more so because of the fear of dying young. Finally, my mother took me to my neighbour’s house and the pea was finally removed after a lot of efforts.

From that day onwards, I swore to myself that I would never experiment such a thing on myself or on others. I have been pretty harmless since then.

Ms. Silly strikes again. This post is just an addition to the long list of silly posts (Read this and again this) I have written and eventually posted after a ‘brain to heart ‘ talk.  As always, the heart wins over the brain and my readers suffer!!Now, before I divulge into my ponderings about how silly I can get, let me start with today’s post for which you are eagerly waiting (Now that is a joke without the laughter). Don’t expect this post to be great or even good. Like always, there is not much thought behind today’s post. It is just a collection of a few hundred words aligned to form a meaningful (hopefully meaningful) sentence.

Animals and their sheer perfection in doing the wrong things at the wrong time is what I am here to talk about. You will see why. The following will help me support my case:
  • A cat will always sneak into the house and drink the milk when you are expecting guests for tea.
  • Even the quietest of dogs will always start a brawl at night when you are extremely tired and all you want is a good night’s sleep minus the noise.
  • You will always find a cow standing in the middle of the road, not moving an inch even after incessant honking, when you are running late for office. Great will-power I say!! A bit more about cows. I wonder what they keep thinking, standing in the middle of the road. Let me guess. Is it about the huge traffic pile up in the mornings or is it some thoughts on how to make Bangalore roads pothole free or is it something more personal like some long lost love. If anyone understands this behaviour of cows, do enlighten me on the same.
  • Rats will always deliver their babies (Deliver babies??Uhhh..forget it. I didn’t find the right sentence)  in the carton box which you have stored in the attic to store coconuts. Maan gaye mummy mouse!!
  • Bats will always dirty your favourite clothes because those are their favourites too.
  • Crows will de-bead your lovely top which has been put to dry in the sun because they feel the beads arranged in a line are some rare species of tasty worms. Or do they feel the top looks better without the beads? Born fashion-designers I must say!!
  • A cockroach will always lap up on you and make you scream and screech like a fool when you are supposed to maintain absolute silence and decorum.
  • A lizard will always lose its tail under your feet when you are expecting it to be safe on the walls nibbling on some insect.
Whoever said animals aren’t humans. They are as annoying as humans sometimes, just like this post!!!

Disclaimer: I love animals .I have no grudges against any of them. The above mentioned points are instances from my life. I have personally experienced all of the above and hence I might be credited with the title of ‘official guinea pig’ for the animals to experiment and perfect their wrong timing.

Best Blogger Tips

I know I promised I’d be back with the story. But, what do I do? I am ready with everything- the book to pen down my thoughts, the pen to write with, the name of the characters, everything!! Well, almost. I am just not ready with the plot :p .I didn’t know writing a story would be so difficult a task considering we all cook up stories at some point in our lives. Hmm I don’t seem to find an inspiration to write my first story. Well, atleast the first one for my blog. This story writing business seems to be a little difficult .Need to take care of a few points (not to step on any copyrights, not to plagiarize etc, etc, etc) or else it’ll turn out to be a disaster. Looks like it’ll turn out a disaster anyway if I don’t find the right inspiration soon. Bye for now. On my way out to find an inspiration…hoping to stumble upon one soon enough.

Best Blogger Tips

A brand new year…am late in posting…aah...too much of Garfield’s influence. Was being lazy. Come on, all of us have the right to be lazy. So here’s wishing you all a very happy new year. Let your year be filled with lots and lots of whatever you wish for. Wishes, when do come true, can backfire ;) So wish at your own risk.

I am tired of writing the same old stuff. New Year...want to try out something new. Done with poems, shayaris, am thinking why not try a hand at writing stories. Yeah, I know the expression on your face. Don’t worry, will try writing genuine interesting stuff. Now that am 24, I think I am old enough to write sensible stuff…hopefully :p Nonetheless, will give it a shot. Time to don the role of a story-writer now. So all the best to me and all the very best to you too. I am sure you will manage to read through my stories. You certainly can manage reading those after having managed to read my other “so called creative out of the brain poems and shayaris”. I sometimes wonder if I could be the next girl Rosesh (only for people who have watched Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai). I have the same enthusiasm he had to produce ‘not so good’ stuff every time…every single time. Only difference… I don’t call my amma “Moma”.

Best Blogger Tips

I have always felt the need to write and express myself.Writing has always been a passion which I have religiously pursued for a very long time. But, it was all limited to either writing as a hobby or for school and college magazines.

From a year or so,writing has taken a backseat. But yesteday, while writing a mail,a rather long one,it just crossed my mind as to why not start writing on my own blog.So here I am to pen down my thoughts and share it with the virtual world.

A question now arises as to what my blog will be all about.Well, it can be about anything;anything I feel is worth penning down.It might include any thought originating from either the left or the right side of my brain.

So I welcome you all to my page and I hope I can make it a pleasurable read for all of you.Open to comments, both positive and negative. So,lets begin the journey...
